Aljezur International School offers a unique secondary school education to children aged between 10 and 16. Based in an idyllic, large farmhouse near Aljezur in the Western Algarve, Portugal, we provide the highest calibre secondary education in a family atmosphere with an emphasis on academic achievement and we welcome students of all nationalities. Teaching at the school is in small groups, with great attention given to individual educational needs.
With over 20 years' of teaching experience, the tutors at Aljezur International School are a dedicated and inspired team who value all students and believe the best possible education should be available to people of all abilities. This is reflected in the excellent exam results achieved by our students every year, which are consistently higher than the average for international schools in southern Portugal. As well as teaching to University of Cambridge IGCSE level, we can also arrange private tutorial support for students studying for AS and A level exams.
Aljezur International School understands that parents considering an international school are looking for an education that brings out the best in their children, whilst increasing their sense of responsibility and awareness of the world around them, both in Portugal and globally. As teachers, we believe strongly that our role as educators of children requires more than delivering facts and information. We lay students' academic stepping stones to their future through IGCSEs and inspire and guide their growth to becoming aware and resourceful world citizens. This is at the very heart of our ethos.
